The AFRICAN HARBOUR MASTERS COMMITTEE (AHMC) is a regional body of the IHMA, created in 2021, with an executive committee composed of a president and 8 Harbour Masters of African ports, its mission is to:
– Participate in the sustainable development of African ports as a source of proposals and a resource of experts in port management and maritime transport in general;
– Coordinate and consolidate the opinions of harbour masters and port officers of African ports;
-Be an effective and influential player with African institutions;
– Share knowledge and skills among African harbour masters and port officers and other maritime experts;
– Share experiences and good practices in order to develop a proactive and preventive policy;
– Organize seminars and training for the benefit of harbour masters and port officers of African ports and other actors of the African maritime industry.
The Moroccan Association of Port Officers is a professional association whose objective is to promote the profession of Port Officer and active participation in the development of the Moroccan port sector, characterized by a structuring and profound change, with regard to the major projects launched by our Kingdom over the past two decades.
The ACOPM’s strategy prioritizes the capacity building of port officers through scientific events, dealing with topical issues relating to aspects of safety, security, and environmental protection for sustainable and SMART development of Moroccan Ports.
Tangier City Port
Tangier City Port is privileged by its unique geographical location, situated at the heart of the city and at the entrance of the Strait of Gibraltar, at only 14 km from the Spanish coast.
It is important to recall that Tangier City Port Reconversion Project, was initiated by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, in March 2010, following the transfer of cargo and passenger activities to Tangier Med port complex, is part of the royal vision for the socioeconomic and tourism development of the Northern Region of Morocco.
Its objectives was to position the city of Tangier as leading destination for yachting and cruising tourism destination of excellence.
Today, the Port of Tangier City ensures the management of various poles (cruise and ferry, yachting, real estate, hotels, entertainment, culture, events and fishing) and contributes through its ambition and its actions to becoming a reference in the West Med zone among cruise and yachting ports in the Mediterranean area.
