Logistics Pole
Tanger Med Port Complex, the leading port in the Mediterranean and Africa. Through «Marsa Maroc», the port operator and maritime services company, it also manages 24 container and bulk terminals. The total volume handled by the Group is 146 Million tons of goods and 8.5 Million TEU’s. Tanger Med’s logistical hub is strategically located at the gateway of the Gibraltar Strait, boasting connections to over 180 ports in 70 countries. It possesses impressive processing capabilities, handling up to 9 million containers, 7 million passengers, 700 000 Ro-Ro Activity, and 1 million vehicles activity. Furthermore, Tanger Med’s Port Complex’s achievements a global scale are nothing short of impressive. For the 6th consecutive year, Tanger Med Port’s Complex has clinched the prestigious position of being the 1st container port in Africa, demonstrating its unwavering commitment to excellence. In addition, it has secured the top spot as the 1st container port in the Mediterranean for the 3th consecutive year, underscoring its consistent performance and efficiency. On a global stage, Tanger Med’s prominence is further highlighted by its 22nd position out of 500 container ports worldwide, a remarkable feat according to Alphaliner Ranking. Moreover, it has earned the distinction of being the fourth most efficient container port globally, a recognition bestowed by the World Bank and S&P Global Market Intelligence, further solidifying its status as a world-class maritime hub. Therefore, Tanger Med Port counts among its ranks the world’s largest shipping lines (Maersk, HapagLloyd CMA-CGM, MSC, Arkas, etc.) as well as port leaders such as APM TERMINALS and EUROGATE. The royal vision of Tanger Med Port is part of a sustainable development approach that seeks a balance between economic, environmental, and social aspects. With this in mind, Tanger Med has been awarded international recognition, such as ISO 9001 certification for the «Reception of ships and associated port services» area, ISO-14001 certification for the environmental management system, ISO-45001 certification for health and safety management, ISO-27001 certification for information security, and ISO55001 certification for asset management within the port complex. Tanger Med’s Industrial platform which regroups various economic zones over the northern region of Morocco including “Tanger Free Zone”, “Tanger Automotive City”, “Renault Tanger Med”, “Tetouan Park” and “Tetouan Shore” activity zone.
