The Marine Adventure: Evolving and adapting to change in today’s ports
We invite you to take part in the 14th IHMA Congress 2024 in Tangier, where we can work together to ensure the continued success of the Marine Adventure in the port and maritime industry for generations to come. Addressing the theme, ‘Evolving and adapting to change in today’s ports’ the 2024 IHMA Congress will follow the journey of a vessel as it prepares for arrival in port, its time in port and finally the departure from port.
After the opening ceremonies, Day One will focus on the preparations onboard and in port which are required to ensure a safe and efficient port call. Port Call Optimisation, Just in Time arrivals and greenhouse gas emissions reduction are hot topics and the panels, discussions, and presentations on Day One will focus on the changes currently underway, or which may be required to make sure that vessel arrivals are managed in the most optimal manner.
Day Three wraps up the port call as the ship and shore authorities prepare for the next leg of the supply chain and provides an opportunity for stakeholders to reflect on the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of the process.
Each day also provides an opportunity to discuss how our industry is adapting and evolving to consider developments in technology, MASS, new fuels, training requirements, social inclusion and climate change as it effects the harbour master and the port call process.
The concurrent exhibition is an unparalleled opportunity for maritime businesses to showcase their services to the key customers and decision makers. It is also an opportunity for port marine professionals from around the world to network, share their experiences and update their professional knowledge.
